  12. You can copy it, distribute it where you want: including CD-ROM, magazines, BBS, Compuserve, Internet, ....

  14. • AutoCat™ is a control panel that automatically creates a catalog of the files on your floppy disks (or on any other removable volume) when they are ejected. With AutoCat™, you have only to write the name of your disks on their label. To find a file, you can use the Finder's "Find…" command as though your file was on your hard disk.

  16. • When you eject a diskette, AutoCat™ creates a folder (with the same name as your diskette and with a customized AutoCat™ icon) within the currently designated "Cataloged disks folder". Into this folder AutoCat™ puts aliases to all the files on the diskette.

  18. • AutoCat™ maintains the hierarchical directory structure of your floppy disks ; it copies folders from the diskette into your "Cataloged disks folder" and, instead of copying files from the diskette, makes aliases of the original files and puts them in their respective folders in the "Cataloged disks folder". (When AutoCat™ is working, the mouse pointer is replaced by an AutoCat™ animated cursor.)

  20. •You can quickly catalog a series of disk. In the Archiving Mode, each disk you insert is cataloged and is immediately ejected.

  22. • AutoCat™ works with any Macintosh running System version 7.0 or higher.

  24. • To install AutoCat™, drag the file named “AutoCat™” onto your closed System Folder icon, then press “OK” when your Macintosh tells you that control panels need to be stored in the Control Panels folder. 
  25. Now restart your Macintosh. AutoCat™ will automatically catalog your disks when you eject them.

  27. • For complete instructions on using AutoCat™, click the small help icon as shown below from within the AutoCat™ control panel. You can also show Balloons directly from AutoCat™.
